I was born in Cuba, an island brimming with color, music, and soul. My childhood was marked by the unconditional love of my mother and grandparents, who were my refuge, my joy, and my greatest inspiration. This photo with my grandfather is one of my most precious memories: an image that takes me back to simpler days, the scent of the countryside, the sound of the sea, and the warmth of hugs that healed everything. I grew up in an environment where love and faith were always present. My grandparents taught me to value the little things, to be strong, and to trust that, even in the most difficult moments, there is always a light waiting for us. Those lessons stayed with me when, years later, life took me far from home. Moving to the United States was the beginning of a new chapter. It wasn't easy adapting to a new culture, starting from scratch, and learning to find my place in such a different world. But every step, every obstacle, and every small achievement helped me discover my strength and understand that change can also be the beginning of something beautiful. Eventually, my path crossed with one of the greatest challenges of my life: being diagnosed with myasthenia gravis. That period changed me profoundly. I learned to see life from a different perspective, to value each day, and to never give up. In the midst of uncertainty, a very strong need to create, to express myself, to heal from the deepest part of my being was born within me. That's how Laura's Shop emerged, not just as a store, but as a reflection of my journey. Every candle, every scent, and every detail carries a piece of my story: my Cuban roots, my path of resilience, and the faith that has always accompanied me.
